Shettleston Judo and Pro Judo are delighted to announce we will be hosting this fund raising event to help our current -81kg ID world and European Champion Chris Murphy participate in an organised training trip to Japan in April 2024.
2024 is a very important year for Chris as he will defend his world title and as far as we are aware the Japanese governing body plan on having a team compete. Therefore, Chris would benefit greatly from attending this training camp to train with Japanese judoka, in order to assess and prepare for the World Championships later in the year.
Your attendance and support is greatly needed and would be very much appreciated. All funds received will go directly to the family to assist in him getting there.
The kata event will be delivered by Scotlands two leading kata exponents Alex and Paul of Shettleston Judo Club.
Both are Senior Kata Examiner’s, multiple time British Kata Champions and international competitors.
They will be assisted by Chris who holds a BJA level 2 award, you will be in safe hands.
We hope that everyone will gain a valuable insight to one of the Randori No kata and the techniques within. guiding you on how best to use the kata.
The course benefits both coaches and players in their understanding and qualifies as a coach revalidation event.
Please wear white Judogi only
BJA Kata qualifications assessments can be arranged on the day, providing they have been arranged prior with Alex or Paul
Suitable for age group 16 years and above.

We are looking forward to seeing you there and thank you all for your support.
