The Gathering 2024

Is the Gathering a ‘Revalidation event’ for coaches? YES

In 2023 we got a small glimpse of the man himself, 2024 is going to be the year for all Shohei Ono fans, introducing Double Olympic Champion, Three time World Champion, Asian Games Champion, Three times All Japan Champion, Five time Grand Slam Champion and Two time Grand Prix Champion Shohei Ono to The Gathering.

2024 will also see our National High Performance Coach Takafumi Kitahara on the mat and this time taking the lead, sharing some his own knowledge and technical skills with the Gathering audience.

If that was not enough to get you signing up already! We hope to have a current Olympic Champion join our coaching team for 2024. Just freshly returned from Paris 2024 with with a gold medal from the individuals and a silver from the teams, JudoScotland are proud to announce that we have -81kg Olympic Champion Takanori Nagase coming to Scotland for this years Gathering.

If you sign up for the full weekend you will receive overnight accommodation within a twin room, lunch, evening meal on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday as well as lots of top-class judo. If you can only make it along for one day, please choose one of our day passes; on Saturday this includes lunch. Any judoka over 14 but under 18 can take advantage of the non-residential weekend pass or day passes, if you want to book the full residential you must be accompanied and be responsible to a full paying adult, for example, your coach. This is due to alcohol being available during the evening meal for those aged 18 years and above.

We endeavour to improve the event each year so we have a maximum number that we will not pass due to mat capacity for practice and for lunch provisions etc. We will however continue to find ways of bringing world class exponents of our sport to you our members to help our sport grow throughout Scotland.
